Among the majority of countries worldwide facing the threat of terrorist threats and separatism is the Republic of India. For several decades, law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with state authorities and administrative bodies, have successfully countered terrorist groups. The effective fight against terrorism in India has provided Indian law enforcement agencies with unique experience in countering this phenomenon, focusing all their efforts on protecting the territorial integrity and ensuring the country's security. Therefore, the author considered it necessary to study India's experience in this area. Initially, the author set the goal of analyzing India's legislative experience and organizational foundations for countering the most acute socio-political problem – terrorism. The research utilized analysis, synthesis, formal-logical, historical, and a number of specific scientific methods. The work emphasizes that India has been fighting various forms of terrorism for decades. To combat it, the government uses a comprehensive approach, incorporating legal, intelligence, technological aspects, and international cooperation. The author concluded that various forms of terrorism have been prevalent in India for a long time. Moreover, the Indian authorities began countering terrorism very early on, in fact, since the country's independence. They early on understood the principle that criminal law alone cannot fully regulate the various acts associated with terrorist threats. In particular, India has adopted several strict anti-terrorism laws and made a number of necessary amendments to previously adopted legislation in this area. Furthermore, over the years of the fight against terrorism, a considerable number of various agencies dedicated to countering it have been established in this country. Furthermore, with the growth of digital transactions, authorities have strengthened oversight of cryptocurrency-based terrorist financing and underground financial networks. The conclusion notes that India is currently a self-sufficient and major regional power, and it continues to demonstrate interest in strengthening relations with Russia through international cooperation, particularly because Russia's support in combating terrorist threats is of paramount importance to India. Therefore, the author emphasizes the importance of developing bilateral Russian-Indian cooperation in the fight against international terrorism and further studying positive international practices and experiments.
