Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to one of specific proceedings in the criminal proceedings of the Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation – special proceedings. A comparative legal analysis of national and foreign legislation is being conducted regarding the possibility of considering a criminal case without the participation of the accused, the grounds, conditions, and procedure for conducting special proceedings. Proposals for amendments and additions to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Belarus on special proceedings have been formulated.
