The article discusses current issues of the legal regulation of the inspection conducted by police officers by rail, water, and air. The purpose of the work is to develop proposals for improving this activity in the context of dynamically changing legislation. Based on the analysis of the norms of federal and departmental law, the procedural aspects of inspection, guarantees of citizens' rights and problems of law enforcement are investigated. The author comes to the conclusion that ensuring public order requires strict compliance with legal norms, and suggests specific measures to optimize the procedure, including mandatory video recording and detailing the legal grounds. The materials of the article are of practical importance for law enforcement practice and professional training of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
