The article is devoted to the crime of elderly people (over 50 years old). The general criminological and psychiatric characteristics of this age category of criminals are given, the most common mental disorders among them. The criminogenic significance of the latter, including for women, the ratio of psychotic and non-psychotic disorders are shown. The role of the microenvironment environment, primarily the family, on the illegal behavior of subjects with mental disorders is emphasized. An at-tempt has been made to scientifically analyze the causes of the criminal behavior of these persons.
