Introduction. The article analyzes the current trends in the spread of illegal activities in the financial market, characteristic of all segments of this market. To achieve this goal, the results of the control and supervisory activities of the Bank of Russia and Rosfinmonitoring were used. Based on the re-sults obtained and taking into account the research previously conducted by the author, conclusions and proposals for the decriminalization of the financial market are formulated. Methods. Methods of systematization and analysis, statistical research, content analysis of publi-cations on similar topics were used. The logical method is used in order to formulate conclusions. Results. The most common illegal transactions and transactions, techniques and methods of deceiving customers are investigated. The features of modern «financial pyramids» are revealed. Discussion and conclusion. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop a set of preventive measures. Directions for improving legislation are proposed.
