The article discusses the main aspects of the activities of the border troops of the NKVD of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War. Special attention is paid to the coverage of the period of the first battles on the border in the summer of 1941, when the Soviet border troops took the blow of the German troops and Germany's allies, showing an example of courage and fortitude. sending a sig-nificant number of its representatives to it. During the Great Patriotic War, in the conditions of com-plication of operational stoppage, the border troops continued their activities to protect the Transcaucasian, Central Asian, Kazakhstani, Transbaikal, and Far Eastern sections of the State Border. In 1944, upon reaching the line of the western border, its protection was restored, the complexity of which was the active work of parts of the restored border districts to combat nationalist formations in the border areas in Ukraine, Belarus, and the Baltic States.
