The article examines judicial and investigative practice in criminal cases of crimes related to the implementation of the national project "Demography". The purpose of the study is to typologize the type of crimes in question in order to further improve the effectiveness of their investigation. The methodological basis of this work is the dialectical method of cognition in combination with modern general scientific, general logical and private scientific methods of cognition based on it, developed and tested by legal science and practice. The empirical base of scientific research is represented by materials of judicial and investigative practice (indictments, decisions on termination of criminal cases, sentences, etc.) on countering crimes related to the implementation of the national project "Demography", which are provided by the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In conclusion, it is concluded that the crimes under consideration are represented by two types: illegal acquisition of the right to maternal (family) capital and illegal use of funds of maternal (family) capital, each of which is divided into subspecies.
