The article discusses issues related to the legal regulation of the administrative and legal status of juvenile affairs units. The authors note that juvenile affairs units are subjects of executive power, which makes it appropriate to analyze their administrative and legal status from the perspective of the legal status of the executive power body as a whole. The authors define the administrative and legal status of juvenile affairs units as a complex structure that includes various elements that ensure the high-quality implementation of their powers to protect the rights of minors and prevent offenses. An analysis of the activities and powers of juvenile affairs units within their administrative and legal status shows that these units are specialized entities within the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs system that are created to work with minors, which requires specialized knowledge and skills from the employees who carry out this multifaceted activity.
