The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to study the correlation of two methods of public administration – persuasion and coercion. Administrative coercion measures are currently the most commonly used methods of influencing the subjects of administrative relations, their diversity and misinterpretation of laws in the process of their application generate a large number of contradictions and problems. That is why, within the framework and limits of the designated landmarks, an at-tempt was made at the Bryansk branch of the VIPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the purpose of which was to conduct a survey of listeners to determine the degree of their possession of theoretical knowledge, to obtain basic basic ideas and up-to-date information about the use of meth-ods of persuasion and coercion in the administrative activities of the police, as well as the effective-ness of their implementation in practice police activities
