Abstract (English):
The 21st century is characterized by a significant number of problems, one of which, of international importance and posing a significant danger to the world's population, is the problem of the develop-ment of extremism and terrorism, characterized by the rapid and widespread emergence and devel-opment of radical ideas that are constituent elements of extremism, the formation of extremist cells in various societies, the increasing globalization of terrorism, an increase in the number of terrorist acts committed and the modernization of modern terrorism, the use of technical means and the modern level of spiritual and cultural development of society by terrorists to achieve their goals. Of particular danger at present are religious extremism and terrorism, based on the religious feelings of people of various faiths, cultivating religious fanaticism in them, distorting the texts of sacred religious books and often causing significant cruelty on the part of religious extremists and terrorists in achieving their goals, extreme commitment to radical views and causing significant damage to public and state interests. In this article we will examine in detail the features of religious terrorism and extremism as a threat to international and national security of the Russian Federation.
